One Team, One Click — Following a Fan Suggestion

Some of the best changes to this site don't come from my own to-do list — they come from your inbox. This one started with a short note from a fan: it would be great to click on a team and just see their recent games. Simple ask. Turns out it was the thread that, once pulled, tidied up a few things at once.

Click a team, see their games

The headline change: team names are now clickable. Anywhere you see a game — Recent Games, the Streak Explorer, Game Statistics, head-to-head results — the two team names are links. Click one and you land on a brand-new Team Statistics page showing that team's games from the last year by default.

And it's not just a flat list. The page carries the same advanced filters as the Game Statistics Explorer — goals, shots, cards, clean sheets, comebacks, betting odds, the lot — so you can start from "show me everyone they've played" and narrow all the way down to "show me their high-scoring away wins." It's the kind of page I should have added from the beginning, and it took a fan to nudge me into it.

There's no menu item for it on purpose. You reach it by clicking a team, the way you'd expect to.

Head-to-head, without the hunt

While I was in there, I fixed something that had always bugged me. Comparing two teams meant going to the head-to-head page and picking both of them out of dropdowns by hand — even when you were already staring at a game between them.

So now the scoreline itself is a link. Click the result of any game and you go straight to the full head-to-head history of those two sides. The two teams, already selected, the records already loaded. No dropdowns, no typing — just the matchup you were already looking at.

Between the two changes, the same little game card now gets you to a single team's form or a two-team rivalry, all from one click on the part you were already pointing at.

National teams, front and center (for now)

Last change, and it's a seasonal one. With the FIFA World Cup 2026 here, most of you are coming to the site for countries, not clubs. Until now the filters opened on domestic football by default, which meant an extra click to get to the international games everyone actually wants right now.

So I've flipped the default. Recent Games, Game Statistics, the Streak Explorer, and Head to Head now all open on national competitions out of the box. One fewer click between you and the tournament.

This one's deliberately temporary — once the World Cup wraps up, I'll likely set the default back to domestic, since that's the bigger catalogue the rest of the year. The switch is still right there if you want to flip it yourself in the meantime; this is only about what loads first.

I want to be clear about where this update came from: a single message from someone who uses the site. They spotted friction I'd stopped noticing, and now everyone gets a smoother ride for it.
